2003 British £2 DNA Double Helix commemorative coin in a Royal Mint presentation case, with James D. Watson’s autograph and a small hand-drawn DNA sketch on the inside lid lining.

Issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1953 discovery of DNA’s double-helical structure, the coin features a DNA double helix with the dates 1953–2003. The opposite side depicts Queen Elizabeth II.

James D. Watson was a co-discoverer of DNA’s structure and shared the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. His signature and accompanying sketch make this an appealing collectible for enthusiasts of genetics, scientific history, autographs, and British coins.

Includes:
• 2003 DNA Double Helix £2 coin
• Clear protective coin capsule
• Royal Mint presentation case with signed interior lining and DNA sketch

The autograph is on the case lining, not the coin. Please examine the photographs for condition and signature details. No numerical coin grade is claimed. Only the items described above are included.

The coin will be securely packed for shipping.  100% guaranteed authentic.  This was purchased from a neighbor of James Watson when they were in Cold Spring Harbor.
